Forest Glade is a historic private garden that is acknowledged as one of the most beautiful in Australia being almost 100 years old.

It embraces a mixture of landscaping styles taking inspiration from English, Italian and woodland traditions.

Located on the southern slopes of Mount Macedon in Victoria, Australia, this magnificently landscaped garden covers fourteen acres (5.6 ha) and has four distinct themes:

• The large English section with its huge exotic trees

• The delightful Japanese section complete with bonsai house

• The beautiful woodland area displaying masses of shade-loving plants

• The cool fern gully

There are no bad times to visit Forest Glade Gardens - in autumn the various maples are a riot of colour, while in spring the rhododendrons, azaleas and peonies are a sight to see. Both summer and winter bring their own very special treats for garden lovers. Anyone is welcome at Forest Glade Gardens from individuals to families to larger tour groups.

Forest Glade is open to the public 7 days a week from 10.00am. Last entry 4:30pm. Admission is $15 per person, or you can book a combined tour of the garden and the Stokes Collection for $35 per adult.

The days are getting cooler, as the spectacular flush of autumn colours paint Forest Glade Gardens for this most vibrant time of the year.

It won’t be too long before the winter veil begins to descend on Mount Macedon.

Please note - Forest Glade Gardens are closed on days of Total Fire Ban.

Forest Glade gardens are not just for lovers of plants and horticulture, they are also a photographers delight. As well as all the colours Mother Nature has to offer, at every turn there’s something special to capture. The gardens are also home to dozens of striking statues, ponds, fountains and water features. Forest Glade Gardens are often used as the backdrop to wedding ceremonies and wedding photographs.
